Last week marked the four year anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster where a building housing 5 garment factories collapsed in Bangladesh. Over 1,000 people lost their lives with a further 2,500 people injured. In response to the disaster a collective of designers and influencers came together to launch Fashion Revolution. Let’s Go Outside: London Wetland Centre
I’ve been a member of WWT – that’s the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust for those in the know – for a good 5 years but, as Northern Ireland only has one WWT Centre I’ve not explored as much as I’d like.
With this in mind, I recently blew the dust off my membership card and headed to Barnes in West London to see how the London Wetland Centre compares to NI’s Castle Espie.
A Walk Among the Bluebells
Since moving to London I’ve been desperate to see the British bluebells that captured the hearts and quills of the Brontë sisters but, for one reason or another, I never quite managed it. That is, until last weekend.
After a quick check of the bluebell status on Twitter and with a full camera battery I headed South along the motorway to the National Trust’s Hatchlands Park Estate.
At a glance: Nordic Matters Festival
How do you say Gender Equality in Faroese? I came across the question quite by accident when I was searching for information on the Southbank Centre’s annual Women of the World Festival, which, for those who may be interested, will take place between 7th and 12th March.
Intrigued, I fell down the rabbit hole and happened upon Nordic Matters – a year long festival hosted at the Southbank, in partnership with The Nordic Council of Ministers. As luck would have it my free Saturday afternoon coincided with the Opening Weekend so I headed down to, if nothing else, to pick up some new vocabulary.
Prague Travel Vlog
At last! Technical woes be damned! I am so glad to *finally* be able to share this travel vlog with you. We visited Prague last Spring and found it to be a great time to see the city because it was that wee bit quieter. It was still busy but less so than during the Summer months.
