When the 2011 MTV European Music Awards rolled into town Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody excitedly remarked “Walking about Belfast at the moment – it doesn’t know itself”. (If you missed it, check out this video of Snow Patrol’s performance of ‘Run’ at Belfast City Hall – he looks pleased as punch to be performing to the home crowd and so do the thousands of people singing along with him. I love it!)
My Day in Pictures: Stunning St Anne’s Cathedral
On one of my recent trips back home I found myself wandering about a bright but blustery Belfast and popped into St Anne’s Cathedral to seek a little shelter. St Anne’s is probably the best known church in the city and like many of the city’s most iconic buildings, it’s steeped in history.
Celebrating Easter with Crème Egg Brownies
If you haven’t totally sickened yourself with copious amounts of chocolate already then these brownies may well be right up your street. I made these last week and they went down a storm in the office and at home. A word of warning to the wise: each brownie will have half a creme egg nestled in amongst the spongey goodness. If that’s a touch too much then have a look for mini Crème Eggs to pop in instead.
Afternoon Tea at The Merchant Hotel
I’ve been holding off on writing this post given that the well-intentioned among you might be observing Lent but now that Easter is finally here I could think of no better way to commemorate it than with photos of a gluttonous feast.
March Favourites
Seeing as March marks the start of a new year for me I thought it might be quite nice time to introduce my monthly favourites to the blog.
