What It’s Really Like to Live in London

I’ve been living in London for three years now.  In that time I’ve had seven jobs, lived in three different Zones with ten strangers, some of whom have become close friends.  I have moved four times – twice in the last year – and once when the choice to do so was not mine.

When I look back to where I was three years ago I had no idea what to expect.  I was terrified yet thrilled at the prospect of the opportunities that lay ahead.  And so, with the experience I’ve gained over the past three years I thought I’d share what it’s really like to live here.

At a glance: Nordic Matters Festival

How do you say Gender Equality in Faroese?  I came across the question quite by accident when I was searching for information on the Southbank Centre’s annual Women of the World Festival, which, for those who may be interested, will take place between 7th and 12th March.

Intrigued, I fell down the rabbit hole and happened upon Nordic Matters – a year long festival hosted at the Southbank, in partnership with The Nordic Council of Ministers.  As luck would have it my free Saturday afternoon coincided with the Opening Weekend so I headed down to, if nothing else, to pick up some new vocabulary.

Prague Travel Vlog

At last!  Technical woes be damned!  I am so glad to *finally* be able to share this travel vlog with you.  We visited Prague last Spring and found it to be a great time to see the city because it was that wee bit quieter.  It was still busy but less so than during the Summer months.

New Year, New Books

At the beginning of last year I resolved, among other things, to read more and I’m happy to say it’s one of the few resolutions I’ve maintained long after the last embers of 2016 died out.  Now that 2017 has rolled around my love of books has only intensified and I thought I’d share some of the titles I’m looking forward to reading with you.

My most recent job has seen the last part of my commute home take place from London’s Waterloo station, which just so happens to have a Foyles book shop.  I often have around 20 minutes to spare between trains and the lure of this branch’s bookshelves is too much for me to resist.
