Two Minute Tricks: Super Spinach Breakfast Smoothie

I know; I know: it sounds gross but just trust me on this one! This is a delicious breakfast that will kickstart your day and, even better, it takes next to no time to prepare. Maximising my sleeping time is a top priority for me so anything that allows me a few more minutes in the land of nod is a winner in my books.

I’ve been having this for breakfast everyday for a couple of weeks now and I do feel more alert in the morning as I head to work. If I feel I need something extra I toast a couple of slices of rye bread and add a touch of butter and honey but I find I don’t need it so often.

My skin seems to be a bit brighter too but I’m not sure if it’s all down to the spinach. Maybe!

Some people use a Nutribullet but I just use a mini-chopper I got from Amazon and it does the job just fine.

You will need:

1 banana
A couple of handfuls of berries (I like blueberries and strawberries)
A pinch of cinnamon
About 1.5inches water from a glass
A big handful of spinach
A few sprigs of mint

Just whizz it all together until you have a smooth consistency, serve and enjoy! Adjust the amount of water as desired and play about with the quantities of everything else to bring out the flavours you like best. The spinach taste virtually disappears behind the sweeter strawberry-mint combo but still does you good!

A good way to get ahead on your 5 a day and boost your productivity in the morning.
