It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at Tales of Adventure HQ: mum came for a visit and we went to the Country 2 Country music festival before taking off for a lovely few days in Prague – if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you’ll have seen some snippets already. Spoiler alert – we had a terrific time!
But I thought I would start these next few posts at the end and work my way back. It’s Easter now and what better way to spend the long weekend than with a spot of sightseeing. Before mama flew back home we revisited an old favourite – a stroll around East London’s Victoria Park before a visit to the delightful Broadway Market. I brought my camera along for the day and didn’t have to look too far for inspiration.
If you’re in London town this – or any – weekend hop on a bus heading East and give the market a whirl. You can expect delicious food, great live music dotted along the street and good quality gifts, (or treats for yourself. There’s no judging here!) If you’re into street art, style and a spot of people watching it’s a great place to be. If the weather’s nice grab yourself a cocktail, or a pint and sit outside Stories and watch the world go by. If you want to treat your tastebuds a visit to Deeney’s for a Hamish Macbeth haggis toastie is a must, (there’s a veggie version too,) or enjoy a budget-friendly gözleme from Cafe Saray – the ladies kneel to make these in the window and they are really tasty and very filling. It’s a kind of flatbread folded around potato or spinach.
Whatever you get up to this weekend I hope you enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday wherever you happen to be spending it.
Until next time,
L X
What an interesting market. I’d love to sip and sit and watch!
